Erre Vieira é artista visual nascida na cidade de Fortaleza, Ceará, e tem sua prática atravessando a pintura, a gravura e outras materialidades. Movida por um interesse na memória e naquilo que escapa dela, pesquisa entre o vestígio, o esquecimento, o detalhe irrelevante e o excesso simbólico de imagens que, embora às vezes não tenham existido, soam familiares.
Seu enfoque é a investigação da confusão junto da memória, como uma convergência de acontecimentos tal qual uma interação de um diário de vida ou das falsas memórias. A atração pelo impulso da pintura da intimidade reconhecendo além de seus significados pré-estabelecidos guia a sua pesquisa partindo de experiências autobiográficas, histórias contadas, fragmentos íntimos ou cotidianos, construindo cenas onde o real e o imaginado se confundem.
Interessa-se pelo que chama de “memória corrompida", que é uma forma de fabular o passado a partir de camadas de tempo, lacunas e atmosferas que flertam com o onírico. Os acontecimentos nem sempre permanecem, mas o rastro emocional deles.
Atualmente vive e trabalha em Fortaleza.
Erre Vieira is a Brazilian visual artist who was born in the city of Fortaleza, Ceará, whose practice spans painting, printmaking, and other media. Driven by an interest in memory and what escapes it, she researches the vestige, oblivion, irrelevant detail, and the symbolic excess of images that, although sometimes not existing, sound familiar.
Her focus is the investigation of confusion alongside memory, as a convergence of events, like an interaction in a life diary or false memories. The attraction to the impulse of painting intimacy, recognizing beyond its pre-established meanings, guides her research, starting from autobiographical experiences, stories told, intimate or everyday fragments, constructing scenes where the real and the imagined become confused.
She is interested in what she calls "corrupted memory," which is a way of fabricating the past from layers of time, gaps, and atmospheres that flirt with the dreamlike. Events don't always last, but the emotional impact they leave behind does.
Erre currently lives and works in Fortaleza.
